To Boil (Whole or Half Picnic)
Remove all wrappings. Put in
pan and cover with water, bring water to boil. Reduce heat to simmer,
let simmer approximately 20 minutes per pound, or
until product center reaches 160°F.
To Heat (Whole or Half
Picnic or Sliced Half Picnic)
Remove all wrappings. Put in pan, cover, and heat at 325°F
for 15-20 minutes per pound, or until product center reaches 160°F.
NOTE: To reduce sodium
level prior to heating, put picnic in pan; cover with water. Soak
overnight in the refrigerator, changing the water at least once
before heating. Drain water and follow TO HEAT instructions above.
Glazing Your Picnic
If you intend to glaze your picnic, remove
picnic from the oven ½ hour before end of heating time. Prepare
your favorite ham glaze and apply evenly over the surface of
the warm picnic. Heat glazed picnic uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes.
